The short version#
- Essential cookies keep the site working: sign-in, form security and remembering your cookie choice. They're always on.
- Everything else is optional and off until you allow it (where the law requires consent): analytics, advertising and embedded content.
- Change your mind anytime: open Cookie settings. We also honor Global Privacy Control.
What cookies are#
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. Sites also use similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, to remember things on your device. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
The categories we use#
| Category | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in, protects forms from spam, remembers your cookie choice, keeps the site secure | Always on |
| Functional | Remembers preferences, such as your last inputs in a tool; loads embedded videos when you choose to play them | Off until you allow it, except tool inputs kept only in your browser |
| Analytics | Counts visits and popular pages so we know what's useful | Off until you allow it |
| Advertising | Lets ad partners (such as Google) show ads, including personalized ads, and measure them | Off until you allow it |
